Why should I take Vivomixx®?
Vivomixx® is a special blend of good bacteria that helps maintain the balance of your intestinal flora.
Why 8 strains?
The strains contained in Vivomixx® have been selected not only for their specific individual characteristics but also for their synergistic activities. They work as a close team to perform what single strains or other combinations of strains cannot do.
Why so many bacteria?
Vivomixx® contains 450 billion bacteria per sachet and 112 billion bacteria per capsule. These quantities are necessary to properly colonize your gut which contains up to 10-1000 billion bacteria/ml of feces material. In the colon there can be around 1500 ml of feces material.
Why should I keep it in the fridge?
The bacteria are live and lyophilized, they are best kept refrigerated.
Can I keep them out of the fridge?
Yes, you can keep them out of the fridge for up to one week without affecting the quality of the product. Do avoid high temperatures (>25°C).
What quantity should I take?
The recommended daily intake is 1 to 2 sachets or 1 to 4 capsules.
How long do I have to take Vivomixx® to feel better?
You will feel better already after 3-4 days but the optimal colonization is achieved in 2-3 weeks.
How long can I take Vivomixx®?
You can take it for as long as necessary as it has no side effect nor contraindications.
When is it best to take it?
There is no recommended time of the day to take Vivomixx®, you may wish to follow your personal preferences.
How do I take Vivomixx®?
Open the sachet, mix into any cold non carbonated drink or food like yogurt or apple sauce and ingest immediately. Capsules maybe taken with a glass of water or opened and mixed in water or yogurt.
Are there any side effects?
Bloating has been reported but this is a transient phenomenon due to the adaptation of your flora to the new bacteria.
Does it contain any allergens?
No, it does not contain gluten, lactose or soy.
What if I take antibiotics?
Vivomixx® can be taken even if you have other concurrent treatments but it is best to take it far apart from antibiotics.
Can I take it during pregnancy?
There are no contraindications but please do consult your physician when taking this or any other food supplement during pregnancy.
